Max&Jan

Mustapha Blaoui

This huge shop offers roomfuls of treasures – antiques, ceramics, glassware, rugs, woodwork (including doors and furniture), rugs, pillows, lamps, and more.

If you are in the market for Moroccan rugs, Marrakech is a great place to be. And in Marrakech, there’s nowhere better than the Zarib brothers. The family has been in the rug business for three generations, and their shop, located in a huge, ancient riad, holds over 6,000 unique pieces.

Take a look at Soufiane’s instagram feed to see the beauty, craftsmanship, and variety of their products. Located at 13 Souk de Tapis, Rahba Kehdima, in the Medina.

Atika

If you want to walk the streets of Marrakesh in style and comfort, stroll into Atika, purveyor of highest-quality leather loafers in an incredible array of colors. Marrakech is famous for its leatherwork, and Atika in particular sells expertly made items with buttery-soft finishes.

Atika is located in the Ville Nouvelle (downtown, not in the medina) at 34 Rue de la Liberté. It is open Monday through Saturday 8:30am-12:30pm and 3:30-8pm.

Souk Cherifia

This bustling market houses several small shops offering home goods, artwork, clothing, souvenirs, and gifts. This is a great place to go if you like the items in the sprawling souks around Jema el Fnaa, but want to find better quality and some unique items from local and international designers.

Lalla sells beautifully decorated bags, Maison Bahira has a lovely collection of embroidered linens, and Ghita Shop offers colorful scarves, hats, and handbags. Located just off Rue Mouassine in the Medina at 15 Souk Cherifia | Dar el Bacha – Sidi Abdelaziz.

ARTC Fashion

The best part about ARTC Fashion is perhaps Artsi Ifrach himself, the intense, opinionated, and creative designer behind the brand. Of Moroccan and Israeli heritage, Ifrach sells unique, bold, and often unusual clothing.

Visit his website to see some of his designs, and visit the shop in person at 96 Rue Mohammed el Beqal, Residence Kelly. It’s open 10am-7pm Monday to Saturday.

Marrakshi LIFE

This label is the creation of Randall Bachner, who hails from New York and worked for many years as a fashion photographer. Combining modern style with traditional textiles, all the pieces are hand woven in the Marrakech atelier. Check out their collections online, and visit the boutique in Souk Cherifia (Souk Cherifia | Dar el Bacha – Sidi Abdelaziz).

Riad Yima
